Infrastructure Engineer
We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer who is detail-oriented, proficient with IT technologies and hardware, and who flourishes in high-pressure environments.
Infrastructure Engineers generally work with numerous software programs, clients, and other technical staff. Their responsibilities include upgrading and improving operating environments, creating repair strategies, and providing technical support and training for users.
Successful Infrastructural Engineers should have good communication and collaboration skills, excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills, and a true desire to learn new tools, techniques, and solutions. Ideal candidates will also have experience or interest in networking, containerisation, automation, and cloud solutions.
Responsibilities
Installing and maintaining operating environments, both physical and virtual
Monitoring these operating environments
Responding effectively and speedily to any problems
Maintaining a professional demeanour with clients and colleagues
Providing training and support
Ensuring operating environments stay safe and secure
Updating any software and hardware where necessary
Documenting all reported malfunctions and actions taken in response
Experience/Requirements
Degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent industry experience
Good organisational skills
Come from a system management/support background
Mature knowledge in the following areas:
Networking (Cisco, Juniper, HP, Dell)
Virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V)
System Automation (Ansible, Python, PowerShell)
System Administration (Microsoft, Linux)
Knowledge of system performance monitoring, reporting and dashboard generation
Experience taking the lead on IT project deliveries
Additional Requirements
Occasional UK travel may be required to attend team/customer meetings, events and training activities

Security Clearance requirements: Due to the nature of our work a UK Security Clearance is required for a number of our roles. To qualify for clearance, you must hold a British passport and have lived in the UK permanently for 10 years (and have 10 years of travel history).
